How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to join our team on a flagship £70 million new build Department for Education (DfE) school project. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering a high-quality, state-of-the-art educational facility for a major blue chip Principal Contractor.

    The Role

    As Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

    You will work closely with the Project Manager, subcontractors, and stakeholders to drive progress and maintain excellence throughout the build.

    Key Responsibilities

    Oversee all on-site construction activities from groundworks through to completion
    Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel
    Ensure strict adherence to health & safety regulations and company policies
    Monitor programme timelines and proactively address delays or risks
    Maintain quality control procedures in line with project specifications
    Conduct regular site meetings and provide progress reports
    Liaise with clients, consultants, and local authorities as required

    Requirements

    Proven experience as a Site Manager on large-scale new build projects (£30m+)
    Previous experience delivering education or public sector schemes (DfE experience highly desirable)
    Strong leadership and communication skills
    Excellent knowledge of construction processes, H&S, and building regulations
    Ability to manage multiple trades and drive programme delivery
    SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold), and First Aid certified
