How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Assistant Quantity Surveyor – £35,000 to £50,000

    Our client, established over 20 years ago, has grown into a leading specialist in structural alterations, operating across London and the South East. They deliver a wide range of projects including groundworks, drainage, reinforced concrete (RC) works, blockwork, steelwork, temporary works, diamond drilling, demolition, and strip-outs. They are currently recruitning for the position of Assistant Quantity Surveyor

    The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will be given is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure across the full commercial lifecycle, from procurement through to final accounts.

    The successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in supporting the commercial function and will be confident in managing day-to-day commercial activities on live projects.

    Key Requirements:

    * The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will ideally have experience within the London construction market

    * Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role

    * Previous experience working for a subcontractor

    * A formal Quantity Surveying qualification

    * Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    * Good commercial awareness and technical understanding

    * The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will live within commuting distance of Central London
