How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Fire Alarm Service Engineer - Luton

    V7 are currently recruiting for an experienced Fire Alarm Service Engineer to join a growing national Fire Alarm company at a few key sites across Luton, Bedford & North London. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a reputable business offering long-term career progression, ongoing training, and excellent working conditions.

    Salary ranging from £38,000-£44,000

    23 days annual leave + BH (rising to 25)

    Stable, long-term position based on a single site (no travelling)Role & Responsibilities:

    Carry out planned preventative maintenance on fire alarm and associated life safety systems such as Emergency Lighting
    Perform fault-finding, diagnostics and reactive repairs
    Complete testing to BS5839 standards
    Work closely with site facilities and security teams
    Maintain accurate records, service reports and certification
    Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety requirements
    Provide technical support and advice to site personnelExperience Required:

    Proven experience servicing fire alarm systems (site-based or mobile)
    Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
    Good understanding of BS5839
    Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
    Excellent communication and customer-facing skillsQualifications:

    FIA units preferred but not essential
    Electrical or Fire Alarm qualifications beneficial
    Full right to work in the UKWorking Hours:
