How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Socode are partnering with an established manufacturing organisation looking to strengthen their supply chain quality function. As part of continued growth, they’re looking to appoint a Quality Engineer to drive supplier performance and ensure compliance across their manufacturing operations.

    This is a hands-on role focused on supplier quality, continuous improvement, and maintaining high standards across a regulated production environment.

    What will you be doing?
    • Leading supplier quality assurance activities across the supply chain
    • Managing supplier onboarding, qualification, and performance reviews
    • Ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements
    • Investigating supplier issues and driving corrective and preventive actions
    • Conducting supplier audits and site visits across the UK
    • Monitoring and improving supplier KPIs and performance metrics
    • Working closely with manufacturing, operations, and supply chain teams
    • Driving continuous improvement initiatives across supplier base

    What are they looking for?
    • Demonstrable experience in a supplier quality or supply chain quality-focused role
    • Background working within a manufacturing or production-driven environment
    • Strong understanding of quality management systems, particularly AS9100, with exposure to ISO9001
    • Experience handling supplier non-conformances, including root cause investigation and resolution
    • Ability to work closely with suppliers to improve quality performance and accountability
    • Strong problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach
    • Flexibility to travel for supplier audits and on-site engagement

    Nice to have
    • Experience working within aerospace or other highly regulated industries
    • Background working with complex, multi-tier supply chains
    • Experience implementing supplier development or improvement programmes
    • Familiarity with audit processes and compliance frameworks
    • Exposure to ISO13485
