A well-established and progressive independent preparatory school in Borehamwood is looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Reception Teacher to join its Early Years team from September 2026.

The Role
You will be responsible for delivering an engaging and high-quality Early Years curriculum, fostering a classroom environment where children feel motivated, supported, and inspired to learn.
Key Duties
Plan and deliver imaginative, play-based learning experiences in line with the EYFS framework
Create a stimulating and well-organised learning environment, both indoors and outdoors
Support the academic, social, and emotional development of all pupils
Monitor and assess children’s progress, adapting teaching to meet individual needs
Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain consistency across the Early Years provision
Take an active role in the wider school community, including events and enrichment opportunities
About You
The successful candidate will have a genuine passion for Early Years education and the ability to create a warm, engaging learning environment.
You will:
Hold QTS or EYTS, with relevant EYFS experience
Have a strong understanding of child development and the EYFS curriculum
Be creative, organised, and proactive in your approach
Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
Contribute positively to a collaborative and supportive school culture
