How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Quantity Surveyor

    Surrey

    Salary: Up to £65,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus

    Are you a Quantity Surveyor looking for your next opportunity This is an exciting role for a Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established Main Contractor based in Surrey. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in delivering a high-quality new build care home project valued up to £10m, working alongside a dynamic and experienced team.

    This Main Contractor has built a strong reputation across the Commercial, Residential, and Showroom sectors, delivering high-quality projects for a diverse client base. With an annual turnover of approximately £100m, they offer the stability of an established business combined with the agility of a growing contractor.

    The Role

    As Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for a new build care home project from procurement through to final account. You will work closely with the project team to ensure financial control, cost reporting, and value engineering opportunities are maximised.

    Key Responsibilities

    Managing all commercial aspects of the project lifecycle

    Preparing cost plans, budgets, and tender documentation

    Procurement of subcontractors and suppliers

    Valuations, variations, and final accounts

    Cost reporting and forecasting

    Liaising with clients, consultants, and site teams

    Requirements

    Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a Main Contractor environment

    Experience working on new build projects (care home experience advantageous)

    Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills

    Ability to manage projects independently

    Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or similar
