How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    £45,000 – £55,000 + Benefits
    West Midlands | Hybrid

    The Opportunity

    If you are an EC&I Engineer who enjoys owning design work and seeing projects through, this role gives you exactly that.

    We are partnering with a global engineering business delivering high specification solutions across water and industrial sectors. They are growing and need an engineer who can take responsibility for electrical and control system design on high-value, technically interesting projects.

    You will be trusted to deliver, make decisions and have a direct impact on how systems are designed and delivered.

    Your Role

    * Own EC&I design across electrical and control system projects

    * Produce schematics, cable schedules, layouts and technical documentation

    * Specify MCCs, control panels and instrumentation

    * Work directly with project teams, suppliers and third parties

    * Support FAT and provide input during commissioning

    * Ensure designs meet industry standards

    Your Skills

    * Experience in EC&I engineering with a strong design focus

    * Background in MCCs, control panels and instrumentation

    * Confident producing electrical drawings and documentation

    * Awareness of PLC systems such as Allen Bradley and HMI

    * Understanding of IEC standards and electrical regulations

    * HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

    Extras

    * Water or utilities experience

    * HV electrical knowledge

    * AutoCAD Electrical or similar

    * SCADA or wider control systems awareness
