How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer (HVAC) to join a growing and dynamic engineering team based in Nottingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to take a leading role in the design and delivery of high-quality HVAC solutions across a range of projects.

    The Role

    As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of HVAC systems, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with industry standards. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders to deliver innovative and efficient solutions.

    Key Responsibilities

    *

    Lead the design and specification of HVAC systems for commercial and/or industrial projects

    *

    Produce detailed calculations, drawings, and technical documentation

    *

    Oversee project delivery from concept through to completion

    *

    Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers

    *

    Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams

    *

    Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards

    About You

    *

    Proven experience in HVAC design within a consultancy or contractor environment

    *

    Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations

    *

    Proficiency in design software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit, IES, Hevacomp or similar)

    *

    Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

    *

    Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively

    *

    Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)

    *

    Chartered status (or working towards) is desirable
