Due to continued growth, an established and highly respected multi-sector construction business is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead an upcoming project in Plymouth. Operating across a wide range of sectors including healthcare, education, industrial and commercial, this organisation delivers both commercial new build and refurbishment projects throughout the South West, with a strong pipeline of secured work.
The Role
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for delivering a new £5m project. The scheme centres around significant external envelope upgrades to a unit, followed by additional enhancement works during later phases. This is a design and build contract, requiring strong technical knowledge, proactive problem-solving, and excellent coordination of the supply chain. The role will involve daily interaction with the client, as the works are being delivered on a live client site, so a professional and customer-focused approach is essential. The position will involve close collaboration with both operational teams and supply chain partners to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Full site management of the project from inception through to completion
Managing subcontractors and supply chain performance
Ensuring health & safety standards are maintained at all times
Maintaining strong client relationships on a live operational site
Delivering works on time, within budget, and to high quality standards
Requirements
Proven experience in both refurbishment and new build projects
Strong understanding of design & build contracts
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Experience working in client-facing, live environments
Experience within roofing and cladding required
Relevant qualifications including SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid at Work
Full UK driving licence
