We are currently recruiting for an Finance Assistant to join a friendly and supportive accounts team based in Thurmaston. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with transactional finance experience who is looking to develop their skills within a collaborative team environment and gain exposure to month-end processes. As the Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the wider finance function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing and maintaining financial records
- Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Reconciling bank statements and ensuring records are up to date
- Credit control on assigned customer accounts, including chasing payments and allocating receipts
- Processing supplier payment runs
- Setting up and allocating payments in the bank
- Assisting with month-end close
- Providing ad hoc support to the finance team as required
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience in a Finance Assistant / Accounts Assistant role
- Strong understanding of accounts payable and receivable processes
- Experience with bank reconciliations and credit control
- Familiarity with accounting software
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills
- A proactive, team-focused attitude
