How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Expeditor
     
    Temporary to Permanent role based in Barnstaple
    Monday to Thursday - 8.00 to 4.45 pm
    Friday - 8.00 am to 12.00 pm

    What is the purpose of the Expeditor?
    The Expeditor is responsible for ensuring the smooth and timely flow of materials, components, and information through the manufacturing process. The role focuses on monitoring production progress, identifying delays, and coordinating with internal teams and suppliers to maintain efficient operations and meet delivery deadlines.
     
    What are the responsibilities of the Expeditor?

    Monitor production schedules and track the progress of work orders
    Identify and resolve delays or bottlenecks in the manufacturing process
    Liaise with departments such as production, purchasing, warehouse, and quality control
    Chase suppliers and internal teams to ensure materials and components are delivered on time
    Expedite urgent orders to support customer deadlines
    Maintain accurate records of order status and production updates
    Communicate progress, issues, and risks to supervisors or management
    Support continuous improvement by highlighting recurring delays or inefficiencies
    Ensure compliance with company procedures and health & safety standards  
    What are the qualifications and experience required for the Expeditor

    Strong organisational and time management skills
    Excellent communication and coordination abilities
    Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks
    Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
    Basic understanding of manufacturing or production processes (preferred)
    Proficiency in using systems such as ERP or production tracking software (desirable)
