How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Technical Support Advisor (Construction Quality & Compliance)

    Location: Thetford

    We are currently recruiting for an experienced Technical Support Advisor to join a well-established contractor working across a diverse portfolio of construction and civil engineering projects.

    Projects range from £100k to £30m+ and include education, commercial, industrial, residential, healthcare and research facilities.

    This role will focus on supporting site teams with quality assurance, compliance, and technical guidance across multiple live projects.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Support site teams in developing and implementing Project Quality Plans

    * Monitor quality standards, inspection processes and testing procedures

    * Carry out site reviews and produce reports highlighting:

    * Best practice

    * Non-conformance and compliance issues

    * Items requiring design team input

    * Preventative and corrective actions

    * Provide technical support on construction materials, including:

    * Inspection and testing

    * Specification guidance

    * Support on complex or high-spec works

    * Work closely with design teams and internal specialists to resolve technical issues

    * Ensure works are delivered in line with statutory and regulatory requirements

    Requirements

    * Minimum 15 years’ experience within construction (main contractor background preferred)

    * Previous experience as a:

    * Site Manager

    * Clerk of Works

    * Quality Manager / Inspector

    * Strong understanding of:

    * Construction quality standards

    * Building Regulations

    * Site inspection and compliance processes

    * Excellent attention to detail and reporting skills

    * Strong communication and ability to work across multiple teams

    Desirable

    * Membership of ICWCI (or working towards)

    * Experience across multiple sectors
