How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you experienced in youth work or supporting young people with complex needs? Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can provide consistent, 1:1 support and make a real impact?

We are working in partnership with a range of Pupil Referral Units (PRUs), alternative provisions, and SEND schools across Bristol and South Gloucestershire to recruit resilient, committed, and compassionate 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistants for the new academic year starting September 2026.

These settings support pupils aged 11–16 with a range of additional needs and challenging behaviours. This is a highly rewarding opportunity for individuals who are calm under pressure, consistent in their approach, and passionate about supporting vulnerable young people.

    ADHD / ADD
Complex and challenging behaviours, including escalation

    Key Responsibilities

Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day
Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour effectively
Support learning, emotional regulation, and personalised programmes
Build a positive, trusting relationship through consistency
Maintain a calm, structured, and safe environment

    Essential Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

A minimum of 6 months’ experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour
Experience in PRUs, SEND settings, youth work, or alternative provision
Strong communication skills (written and verbal English)
Right to work in the UK
A full 5-year employment history with any gaps explained
Two years of references (including education or care-based)
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach

    Why Work With Us?

Competitive pay rates (£14.26–£18.00 per hour, dependent on experience)
PAYE payroll – no hidden fees or umbrella deductions
    Dedicated consultant support, available 24/7
    Guaranteed Payment Scheme (T&Cs apply)
Access to CPD training and My-Progression certificates
    £100 referral bonus (T&Cs apply)
