Job Description

TeacherActive is currently recruiting a Primary Teacher with QTS to work in a variety of welcoming and supportive primary schools across Chelmsford and surrounding areas.

As a Primary Teacher you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons, supporting pupil development, and creating a positive learning environment. This role is perfect for experienced teachers or newly qualified teachers seeking flexible supply work, long-term placements, or permanent primary teaching positions.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Primary National Curriculum
Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all pupils
Manage classroom behaviour effectively
Assess, monitor, and report on pupil progress
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and leadership teams

Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK – essential
Experience teaching in UK primary schools (EYFS, KS1, or KS2)
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A passion for primary education and child development
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
