How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A respected multidisciplinary construction consultancy is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team in Salford. This is an excellent opportunity for a career-focused Quantity Surveyor to work across a diverse range of residential and affordable housing projects throughout Greater Manchester and the North West.

    The Quantity Surveyor

    The successful Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in delivering cost consultancy and employer's agent services on new build housing and regeneration schemes. Working closely with senior colleagues and clients, the Quantity Surveyor will manage pre- and post-contract duties, with a strong emphasis on the employer's agent function.

    This role offers excellent long-term progression for a motivated Quantity Surveyor looking to expand their project and client-facing experience within a supportive consultancy environment.

    Applicants should be confident working across the full project lifecycle and have prior experience within the residential or affordable housing sectors.

    Required Experience:

    Consultancy or client-side background as a Quantity Surveyor
    Experience delivering projects as, or supporting, the employer's agent
    Knowledge of residential and affordable housing schemes is desirable
    Working towards MRICS or recently chartered preferred
    Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
