Senior Systems Engineer

Nova Talent are delighted to be working alongside our client, a world leading provider of Air Traffic Control Communication Solutions within the Aviation & Defence sectors. Together we are recruiting a Senior Systems Engineer to join the Engineering Team, based in Market Deeping.
In this role, you will be responsible for defining and selecting the most appropriate technologies to support their solutions and wider product portfolio. You will stay ahead of industry trends, continuously evaluating emerging technologies to ensure their approach remains innovative and competitive.
You will play a key role in driving consistency across the organisation’s technology roadmap, ensuring alignment and coherence across the portfolio. Working collaboratively with Product Development discipline teams, you will help shape technical direction and support the successful delivery of high quality solutions.
Essential requirements of candidate:
• Product Development experience
• Be an innovative critical thinker with the ability to both work under own initiative and develop others
• Methodical and developed troubleshooting, communication and planning skills
• Have a well developed commercial awareness
• Able to engage with stakeholders at a high level to understand future needs
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of one or more of the following areas:
• Excellent knowledge of communications systems equipment specification, design or test.
• Understanding of a wide range of network technologies
• Electronics or RF knowledge
• Understanding of VHF/UHF communications, Navigation and Surveillance Systems.
• Previous background in radio communications
• Experience of configuration management and various lifecycle models
• Ability to identify and manage risks relating to systems and projects
• Ability to understand and prepare requirements
• Ability to set and review architectures
