How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Import Administrator

    Location: Stoke-On-Trent
    Hours: Monday to Friday, Full-Time

    About the Role

    Our client is currently looking for an Import Administrator to join their busy and fast-paced operations team. This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth coordination of import shipments across Europe, providing essential administrative and operational support.

    Key Responsibilities

    Coordinate and arrange European cargo collections and manage customer bookings
    Liaise with European partners and agencies to ensure a seamless service
    Check and process commercial invoices accurately
    Communicate with internal departments including customs, transport, and warehouse teams
    Provide quotations for European import shipments
    Prepare domestic delivery documentation for transport
    Input shipment details, costs, and charges into the transport management system
    Prepare unloading lists for warehouse operations
    Maintain accurate and up-to-date administrative records
    Ensure effective communication across departments to support timely delivery of goods
    Manage spreadsheets and track shipment data
    Handle customer queries and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner
    Respond to customer enquiries via phone and email
    Support continuous improvement of internal processes
    Assist with additional tasks as required by management

    Requirements & Skills

    Previous experience in an administrative or customer service role
    Experience within logistics, freight forwarding, or European import/export operations is highly desirable
    Understanding of import customs procedures and documentation (e.g. T1/T2) is advantageous
    Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
    Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
    High level of accuracy and attention to detail
    Ability to prioritise workload and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
    Willingness to learn new systems and processes quickly
