We are currently seeking an experienced Highways Supervisor for an immediate interview and start on a 3-month contract basis, with strong potential for extension based on performance.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy highways team delivering reactive maintenance and repair works across the Ipswich area.
Role Details
Location: Ipswich
Rate: £250 per day (CIS)
Contract Length: 3 months initial, with extension potential
Start Date: ASAP
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30 - 16:00
Key Responsibilities
Supervising day-to-day reactive highways repair and maintenance works
Managing and coordinating site operatives, subcontractors, and gangs
Ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to programme
Monitoring productivity, quality, and health & safety compliance on site
Liaising with clients, local authorities, and internal delivery teams
Conducting site inspections, briefings, and toolbox talks
Managing workforce performance and driving high standards across teams
Ensuring all works comply with highways and street works regulations
Candidate Requirements
Previous experience working as a Highways Supervisor
Strong background in reactive highways repairs / maintenance
Proven people management and leadership skills
Ability to manage multiple workstreams and site teams effectively
Strong communication and organisational skills
