How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Piping Engineer (Senior Level)

    📍 North West (Office & Site-Based)
    💰 Salary, up to £60k (DOE)

    The Opportunity

    We’re supporting one of our key clients - an established and highly respected engineering specialising in piping design and process engineering across industrial, petrochemical, Nuclear and energy sectors.

    This is a business we know exceptionally well and I am proud to support thier growth.

    They have built a strong reputation not just for the quality of their engineering, but for the way they treat their people. It’s a stable, well-run company with a consistent pipeline of work, offering engineers the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects within a genuinely supportive environment.

    Why This Business Stands Out

    * Low staff turnover - people join and stay

    * A warm, friendly, and down-to-earth office culture

    * Strong focus on developing and nurturing engineers at all levels

    * Exposure to real engineering work, not just siloed tasks

    * A business that values long-term careers, not short-term hires

    The Role

    This is a senior-level position, ideally suited to someone who has been working as a Piping Design Engineer and is either looking to step up, or is already operating as a skilled Piping Engineer.

    * Produce piping design and engineering documentation

    * Carry out pipe stress analysis and mechanical calculations

    * Develop 3D piping layouts using AutoCAD / Plant 3D

    * Prepare drawings, BOMs, reports and specifications

    * Interface with clients, contractors and internal teams

    * Conduct site visits and system surveys

    * Support delivery across a range of industrial and process projects

    What They’re Looking For

    * Background in piping design / engineering

    * Experience within oil & gas, chemical or industrial sectors

    * Knowledge of ASME, BS EN and ISO standards

    * Experience with AutoCAD / Plant 3D

    * Strong communication and coordination skills

    * Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects

    The Environment

    * Close-knit, collaborative team

    * Office-based with site involvement

    * Supportive leadership with a hands-on approach

    * Opportunity to work across the full project lifecycle

    The Bottom Line

    If you’re looking to take the next step in your career, or move into a business where you can be valued, supported, and develop long-term, this is a genuinely strong opportunity.
