Salary: £67,000 - £97,500 per annum
We're seeking an experienced Digital Portfolio Manager on behalf of our public sector client o lead the delivery of major technology programmes that modernise their digital estate. This includes cloud migration, infrastructure and network transformation, data platforms, and the decommissioning of legacy systems.
You'll work closely with Architecture, Engineering, Cyber and Technology teams to translate digital strategy into clear delivery roadmaps, oversee portfolio performance, and ensure programmes deliver value at pace. This is a senior role requiring strong hands‑on experience delivering complex, large‑scale technical change.
Key Responsibilities
Large scale cloud migration initiatives (Azure or AWS)
Infrastructure modernisation, including data centre consolidation, network transformation or SDWAN deployment
Decommissioning and migrating from complex, high risk legacy systems
Leading multi supplier or multi disciplinary engineering teams through significant technical change
Convert digital strategy into actionable multiyear delivery roadmaps
Prioritise and sequence programmes to maximise value and reduce technical debt
Mobilise cross functional technical teams and set them up for successful execution
Oversee portfolio delivery performance, identifying risks, gaps and opportunities
Ensure architectural alignment and that technical decisions support long-term resilience
Drive governance, financial management and programme assurance
Support the development and capability of the internal delivery and engineering communitiesWhat We're Looking For
Experience implementing large scale technical change - data centre migration, cloud migration, network upgrades.
Leadership skills - working with ambiguity and able to direct and make decisions effectively with strategic thinking
Previous experience
Full delivery accountability, involved with projects throughout the full lifecycle of projects and implementation
Strong technical understanding across infrastructure, cloud, networking and data
Experience reducing technical debt and modernising technology estates
Excellent stakeholder management at senior level
Programme/portfolio qualifications (MSP, PMP, PRINCE2, Agile)Desirable:
Experience delivering programmes with budgets of £5m-£20m+ programmes
Background in enterprise digital transformation, utilities or similar complex, regulated industries
