How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Experienced Social Worker – Children’s Services (Swindon)

Are you ready to bring your expertise to a forward-thinking authority that is actively transforming the landscape of Children’s Services? Swindon Borough Council is looking for dedicated, experienced Social Workers to join their team and help drive positive change for local families.

At SW Locums, we have been a trusted partner to the social work community since 2009. We don’t just place practitioners; we support careers. By joining Swindon through us, you are stepping into a role backed by nearly two decades of industry experience.

    Why Swindon Borough Council?

Swindon is currently on an ambitious journey of improvement and innovation. This is an exciting time to join a council that is:

    *

Investing in Transformation: With the "Swindon 2028" vision, the council is focused on creating sustainable, high-quality outcomes for every child.

    *

Cultivating a Supportive Environment: Swindon prides itself on a culture of reflection and learning, where practitioners are encouraged to share ideas and develop their professional practice.

    *

Commitment to Co-Production: You will work in a system that values the voices of children and families, ensuring they are at the heart of every decision.

    The Role and Impact

As an Experienced Social Worker, you will handle complex cases with a focus on stability and safety. Your role is vital in navigating families through the statutory process while maintaining a relationship-based approach. You will be instrumental in implementing new models of working, such as Early Support and Multi-agency Child Protection.

    Key Details

    *

Pay Rate: Up to £42.00 per hour (dependent on experience).

    *

    Location: Swindon (Statutory Children’s Teams).

    *

Focus: Child Protection, Children in Need, and Court Work.

    Requirements

To be successful in this impactful role, you must possess:

    *

Significant Post-Qualifying Experience: A proven track record in a statutory Children’s Services setting.

    *

Clinical Excellence: Strong assessment skills and the ability to produce high-quality reports for court and conferences.

    *

Professionalism: Current registration with Social Work England.

    *

Resilience: The ability to manage a challenging caseload while maintaining a focus on the child’s best interests.

    Partner with SW Locums
