How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Our client, a leading organisation within the rail and infrastructure sector, is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their growing Rail Division. This is a permanent position offering the opportunity to work on multiple high-profile rail projects in the South East, with a Central London base and hybrid working arrangement. Regular travel to project sites will be required.

    Key Responsibilities:

Lead the delivery of multiple rail projects from inception through to completion
Act as the client interface, managing consultants, contractors, and delivery partners
Maintain control of programme, cost, risk, and change management processes
Provide strong commercial oversight, including cost reporting, forecasting, and value management
Manage projects under NEC forms of contract, ensuring contractual compliance
Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and supply chain partners
Ensure robust governance, reporting, and assurance processes are in place

    Job Requirements:

Our client is seeking professionals with a strong client-side or consultancy background rather than those coming purely from a construction background. Essential experience:

Proven experience as a Project Manager within rail or major infrastructure
Strong commercial awareness and cost management experience
Solid working knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC3 / NEC4)
    Experience managing multiple projects concurrently
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Flexibility to attend both office and project sites as required
    Desirable:

Experience working for a client organisation, consultancy, or operator
Relevant professional qualifications (APM, PRINCE2, RICS, or similar)

    Benefits:

Opportunity to work on high-profile rail projects across the South East
Hybrid working with a Central London base
Long-term career prospects within a growing rail function
    Collaborative and professional project environment
If you are a commercially minded, client-focused Project Manager looking for your next opportunity in the rail sector, we would love to hear from you. Apply now to join our client's dynamic and talented team
