Frankphil Childcare Ltd is seeking an experienced and motivated Early Years Setting Manager to lead our 40‑place pre‑school and out‑of‑school club based in Romford, Havering. This is an exciting opportunity for a strong leader with a passion for early childhood education, safeguarding, and high‑quality practice. Our setting operates from a well‑established church hall and provides early education for children aged 2–4, alongside wraparound care for children up to 11. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a manager who can lead with confidence, professionalism, and a child‑centred approach.
About the Role
As the Early Years Setting Manager, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day running of the pre‑school and out‑of‑school club. You will ensure the setting meets all Ofsted requirements, maintains strong safeguarding practice, and delivers a high‑quality curriculum in line with the EYFS. This role requires excellent leadership, organisational skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, staff, and the wider community.
You will oversee staff supervision, training, rotas, planning, assessments, and quality improvement. You will also ensure that policies, procedures, and documentation are up to date and compliant. This is a hands‑on leadership role suited to someone who is proactive, confident, and committed to delivering excellence in early years education.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the daily operations of the pre‑school and out‑of‑school club
• Ensure full compliance with the EYFS, Ofsted standards, and safeguarding requirements.
• Manage staff performance, training, supervision, and team development
• Oversee planning, observations, assessments, and curriculum delivery
• Maintain accurate records, policies, and health & safety procedures
• Build strong relationships with children, families, and the local community
• Support recruitment, enrolment, and parent communication
• Drive continuous improvement and high‑quality practice across the setting
• Ensure the environment is safe, inclusive, and engaging for all children
Requirements
• Level 5 Early Years qualification (or working towards) preferred
• Level 3 qualification (minimum) with strong leadership experience
• Excellent knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding
• Previous experience as a Manager or Deputy Manager in an early years setting
• Strong communication, organisational, and team‑leadership skills
• Ability to motivate staff and maintain a positive working culture
• Confident in Ofsted preparation and inspection readiness
• Passionate about delivering high‑quality childcare and education
