How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Type: Fixed Term Contract
    Duration: 6 months initially with view to be extended
    Hours: Flexible working hours (Standard 9am-5:30pm)
    Salary: £26,000 to £29,000 depending on experience

    Polytec are seeking a Customer Service Representative for our Saffron Walden based client. This role will support customers and internal teams, focussing on delivering high quality service, managing orders and ensuring smooth communication across sales, supply chain and distribution channels.

    Responsibilities
    - Handle customer enquiries via phone, email and online chat in a timely and professional manner
    - Process and confirm customer orders using internal systems
    - Prepare and issue quotations using CRM tools and standard office software
    - Provide administrative and coordination support to sales teams in the UK and international markets
    - Coordinate with customers and distribution partners to arrange product shipments
    - Monitor outstanding orders and collaborate with supply chain teams to resolve delays
    - Maintain accurate customer records and update CRM databases
    - Keep customers informed on order status, delivery timelines and any issues
    - Capture customer feedback and contribute to internal reporting processes
    - Support internal meetings, events and general team administration as needed

    Requirements
    - Previous experience in a Customer Service or Support role
    - Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook
    - Familiarity with order processing or ERP systems (e.g., Opera, NetSuite, SAP or similar)
    - Experience using CRM or database platforms (e.g., Salesforce or equivalent)
    - Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships
    - Positive, proactive mindset with a willingness to take initiative
    - Highly organised with strong attention to detail and accuracy
    - Ability to prioritise tasks and manage a varied workload efficiently
    - Comfortable suggesting improvements to processes and systems
