How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Teaching Assistant

Can you help KS2 pupils stay focused, build confidence, and make better progress across the school week? Are you looking for a primary role that gives you real classroom experience in a busy and supportive setting?

    *** Teaching Assistant
    *** £80 - £95 per day
    *** September 2026 to July 2027
*** Large primary school, Ward of Yardley
*** Support across the curriculum in KS2

    The Role:
Support KS2 pupils across the curriculum through a mixture of classroom assistance, targeted group work, and focused 1:1 support where needed. You will help reinforce learning in English, Maths, Science, and foundation subjects, keep pupils engaged in lessons, prepare simple resources, and feedback clearly to the class teacher on progress. Teaching assistants support teachers in the classroom and help children with reading, writing, and learning activities, while KS2 covers subjects across the primary national curriculum.

    The Candidate:
You are reliable, adaptable, and able to explain ideas clearly to older primary pupils. You enjoy helping children overcome barriers in their learning, you can work well as part of a classroom team, and you want school-based experience that gives you a strong foundation for a future in teaching. Primary teachers support the educational, social, and emotional development of children aged 3 to 11, so KS2 experience is a strong step towards that path.

    Requirements

Degree – A 2:2 or above in any subject.
Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
Desire to work in education/with children – Genuine interest in supporting pupil progress and wellbeing.
Career Goals – A desire to train as a teacher and build a long-term career in education.
    The School:
This large primary school in the Ward of Yardley offers the chance to build broad KS2 experience in a setting where teamwork, consistency, and pupil progress matter. You will work closely with teaching staff in a role that gives you exposure to day-to-day classroom practice across a range of subjects, making it a strong fit for someone who wants varied primary experience rather than a narrow support brief. The national curriculum remains the statutory framework for maintained schools in England, with KS2 including English, Maths, Science, and the wider curriculum.

    How to Apply
Apply today with your CV to be considered for this Teaching Assistant role. Shortlisted applicants will be contacted to discuss next steps and arrange interview. Early applications are encouraged, as the school may appoint before the closing date.

Due to the high number of applications, only successful applicants will be contacted
