How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    CNC Miller (Setter/Operator) – Training Available

    * Training available with programming and progression onto more complex machines

    * Salary: £35,000 – £42,000 DOE + Overtime

    * Hours: Mon–Thurs 7:00–16:00, Fri 7:00–13:00 (Some Flexibility around start and finish times)

    A well-established precision engineering environment is looking to add an experienced CNC Miller to its team. The business operates from a modern, well-equipped facility and produces high-quality components for a range of demanding industries.

    This opportunity would suit someone with a solid background in CNC milling who is confident setting and operating, and is interested in developing further skills in programming and other machining areas.

    CNC Miller (Setter/Operator) – The Role

    * Set and operate CNC milling machines

    * Work from engineering drawings to tight tolerances

    * Edit programs at the machine where required

    * Carry out first-off and in-process inspection

    * Select tooling, speeds and feeds to ensure efficient machining

    * Support wider machining activities where required (including turning – training available)

    CNC Miller (Setter/Operator) – Requirements

    * Experience setting and operating CNC milling machines

    * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

    * Experience working to tight tolerances

    * Familiarity with controls such as Fanuc, Heidenhain or similar

    * Strong attention to detail and quality standards

    CNC Miller (Setter/Operator) – Desirable (Not Essential)

    * Programming experience (online or offline)

    * Experience with Fusion 360 / Inventor CAM

    * Multi-axis machining experience

    * Any exposure to CNC turning
