How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Field Service Engineer

    Field based, covering Midlands region

    £35,800 per annum basic (£50,000+ earning potential) + Plenty of Overtime Available + Company Van, Mobile, Laptop + Early Finish on Friday + 33 Days Holiday Inc Bank Holidays

    Are you a Field Service Engineer looking to join a leading UK company, with an excellent reputation, who offer industry training and give you the opportunity to significantly increase your earnings through overtime?

    On offer is the chance to work in an autonomous role, where you will use your technical skills to provide reactive and planned maintenance across a variety of sites. The company are well known for their investment in staff and offer structured industry training to help develop your skills and progress your career.

    The company are well established within the industry and work with multiple blue chip clients. This is a great opportunity to join the company as they are experiencing rapid growth. This is a varied role, covering the Midlands region.

    This role would suit a Field Service Engineer who is looking to join a leading UK company where you will have the opportunity to increase earnings through overtime.

    The Role:

    Planned and reactive maintenance on a variety of generators, fault finding i.e. control panel, AC/DC electrical systems, genset synchronization
    £17.25 p/h basic, 39hrs per week - 8:00am to 16:30 Monday to Thursday, 15:30 finish Friday
    Overtime 1.5x - paid from 6:00am to 8:00am, then 16:30pm to 00:00pm/ 2.0x paid 00:00 to 6:00am
    Midlands patch (up to Liverpool, Sheffield, down to Oxford & Worcester) Occasional visits to depot in Birmingham required The Person:

    NVQ in plant maintenance/equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
    Experience working on generators, plant hire, and/or similar equipment
    Full, Clean UK driving license
