37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Monday to Thursday: 07:45 to 16:30

Friday: 07:45 to 12:15 (early finish)

The Company

We are recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established engineering business based in Cheshire. This is a family run organisation with a strong reputation, modern equipment, and a genuinely supportive working environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be part of a skilled engineering team responsible for the assembly, disassembly and testing of bespoke machinery.

This is a hands-on role involving the build of complex mechanical systems from engineering drawings, with occasional involvement in on site installations.

Key Responsibilities

Assemble and build mechanical components and complex units from engineering drawings
Align materials and fit parts to tight tolerances
Select and modify components based on measurements and specifications
Carry out mechanical fitting work including drilling, tapping and adjustments
Operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment safely
Support installations on customer sites when required, including occasional travel
About You

Time served Mechanical Engineering qualification, Level 3 or equivalent
Strong background in mechanical fitting, not just basic assembly
Experience working with tolerances, measurements and component adjustments
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
Hands on bench experience including drilling, tapping, lathes and milling
Knowledge of measuring equipment and fitting processes
Strong attention to detail and quality standards
Team player with a proactive approach
Good understanding of health and safety practices

Experience with pneumatics
Flexibility to support occasional installations, including potential international travel
