The Role:
As Transport Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the night transport operation, ensuring all collections and deliveries are executed on time and in full. You will lead a team of drivers and supervisors within a fast-moving hub environment, driving operational performance while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
Full operational control of the night transport function
Leading, motivating and developing transport and driver teams
Ensuring compliance with all transport legislation, including O Licence requirements and driver hours regulations
Managing route planning, load optimisation and vehicle utilisation
Driving on-time performance and service level agreements
Liaising with internal stakeholders and client contacts to ensure smooth operation flow
Monitoring KPIs and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
Ensuring health & safety standards are consistently upheld across the operation The Candidate:
We are looking for a hands-on, experienced Transport Manager who thrives in a high-pressure, time-critical environment. You will ideally have:
Proven experience within parcel, express logistics or high-volume transport operations
Strong leadership background managing drivers and transport teams
Excellent understanding of transport compliance and legislation
Experience working permanent night shifts or within 24/7 operations
A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong decision-making ability
CPC National/International (preferred or required depending on client) The Package:
