About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Income Housing Accounting Officer to join our Housing Finance team within a Local Authority setting. This is a key role responsible for ensuring accurate financial management of housing income, supporting service delivery, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and reconcile housing income accounts, including rent, service charges, and other income streams
Monitor arrears and support income recovery processes in collaboration with housing teams
Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and variance analysis for housing income
Ensure accurate posting of transactions and maintain integrity of financial systems
Support budget setting and year-end processes
Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve discrepancies
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and audit requirementsAbout You
Proven experience working within housing finance or income accounting, ideally within a Local Authority or social housing environment
Strong understanding of housing rents, service charges, and income management processes
Experience using financial management systems and housing management systems
Excellent analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
Salary description
£13.50 - £17.00 per hour
