How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Marble Talent Group are seeking a commercially aware Pre-Construction Lead to support projects from estimating through to commencement on site. This role requires strong building services engineering knowledge, with the ability to effectively manage design, procurement, and planning phases.

    You will work closely with internal teams and the supply chain to develop procurement strategies, manage risk, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and set up for successful execution.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Manage project design delivery across internal and external design teams, including drawing reviews and approvals

    * Prepare and issue technical submittals for major plant and equipment

    * Develop financial reports and procurement strategies to improve project margins

    * Review contract documentation to ensure alignment with project estimates and agreed value engineering or derogations

    * Identify and manage project risks and opportunities, including value engineering initiatives

    * Support the development of pre-construction and construction programmes with design and project teams

    * Engage with specialist subcontractors to define scope, manage design output, conduct pre-let meetings, and ensure compliance with project requirements

    * Attend internal and external project meetings as required

    Skills & Experience

    * Strong understanding of the construction industry, with essential experience in the M&E sector

    * Solid technical knowledge of mechanical systems and products

    * Working knowledge of electrical systems and products (desirable)

    * Previous site-based experience (beneficial)

    * Good understanding of project design processes and procedures

    * Sound commercial awareness

    * Experience across multiple sectors such as MOD, MOJ, DfE, and Healthcare (desirable)

    * Excellent analytical skills with the ability to apply logical thinking to complex project challenges

    * Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders
