How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Description:
This CNC Machinist / Engineer role is ideal for someone with strong CNC milling, turning, and sliding head expertise who enjoys both hands-on machining and process improvement. The successful CNC Machinist / Engineer will manufacture tooling, fixtures, jigs, and bespoke components while supporting prototype builds and engineering-led improvement projects.

A key part of the role is programming Fanuc-controlled machines from scratch, optimising existing programs, improving cycle times, troubleshooting machining issues, and ensuring all parts meet tight tolerances and quality standards. You will work closely with engineering, production, quality, and tooling suppliers to improve manufacturing performance and minimise downtime.

    Skills & experience:
We are looking for a CNC Machinist / Engineer with proven experience across CNC lathes, mills, and sliding head machines. You must have programmed Fanuc machines from scratch and be confident selecting tooling, setting speeds and feeds, reading engineering drawings, and using precision inspection equipment including micrometres, verniers, and gauges.

Experience producing tooling, fixtures, and high-precision components is essential. Exposure to prototyping, continuous improvement, process optimisation, and engineering qualifications such as Apprenticeship, NVQ, or City & Guilds would be highly beneficial.

This CNC Machinist / Engineer opportunity offers long-term stability, excellent work-life balance, and the chance to work on technically challenging precision projects in a highly advanced environment.

You will directly influence machining strategy, tooling methods, and process improvements while developing your expertise in a business that values engineering excellence.

If you are a CNC Machinist / Engineer seeking a secure role with strong benefits, career progression, and cutting-edge CNC technology, this is an outstanding next step for an experienced CNC Machinist / Engineer
