How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Lead Quality Engineer
    Salary: Dependent on experience
    Location: Aston, Birmingham
    Contract: Permanent

    Role Summary

    The Lead Quality Engineer will be responsible for driving quality assurance activities across manufacturing and engineering operations, ensuring robust processes and effective resolution of customer and internal quality issues. The Lead Quality Engineer will act as a key interface between stakeholders, supporting continuous improvement and maintaining high product standards.

    Role & Responsibilities

    Communicate with customers, service teams, and internal stakeholders regarding quality claims and notifications
    Coordinate and manage internal and external customer claims within the plant
    Ensure serial production quality assurance activities including process release, approvals, engineering changes, and product audits
    Lead quality management teams, including MRB-IDC and tollgate activities as a Lead Quality Engineer
    Participate in or lead problem-solving activities relating to customer complaints and internal quality issues
    Support manufacturing in resolving internal technical failures and quality concerns
    Participate in Q-Table meetings and perform process confirmation activities
    Act as product quality representative within project teams including new product introduction and operational changes
    Conduct process audits and follow up on corrective actions
    Requirements of the Role

    Degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical & Materials Engineering or relevant discipline
    Experience in engineering, quality assurance, and manufacturing processes as a Lead Quality Engineer
    Knowledge of quality management systems, tools, and methodologies such as 8D, Ishikawa, and 5 Whys
    Strong leadership and team management capabilities
    Structured, methodical approach with strong collaboration and communication skills
    Solid technical understanding of manufacturing and engineering principles
