How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: Commissioning / Pre-Commissioning Engineer

    Location: Bristol, Somerset

    Salary/Benefits: £27k - £48k + Training & Benefits

    A growing name within the Commissioning / Water Treatment industry is seeking an experienced and technically-minded Engineer to join their privately-owned outfit. The role will involve BSRIA flushing, and air/water balancing in line with CIBSE guidelines. Our client is seeking someone with a professional attitude, who can need to be flexible to travel as the company’s portfolio grows. Our client can consider candidates who are looking to build on their existing experience, as they can offer fantastic further training. Salaries on offer are competitive and benefits include: company vehicle, overtime, pension scheme and annual leave allowance.

    Consideration will be given to candidates from the following areas: Bristol, Filton, Yate, Keynsham, Bath, Chippenham, Calne, Swindon, Trowbridge, Frome, Warminster, Radstock, Wells, Shepton Mallet, Street, Glastonbury, Weston-super-Mare, Portishead, Bridgwater, Taunton, Thornbury, Stroud, Dursley, Gloucester, Cheltenham, Cirencester, Newport, Chepstow, Cardiff, Barry.

    Experience / Qualifications:

    * Proven experience working as a Commissioning / Pre-Commissioning Engineer

    * Will ideally have obtained CSA grades

    * Fully conversant in BSRIA and CIBSE guidelines

    * Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills

    * Professional attitude

    * Strong communication skills

    The Role:

    * Carrying out air and water balancing in addition to primary and secondary balancing on CHW, LTHW and AHUs

    * Pre-commissioning flushes on pipework, heated and chilled systems

    * Measuring balance flow rates

    * Pipework chlorinations

    * Remedial duties, including filter replacements on AHUs

    * Adhering to HSE guidelines

    * Producing detailed service reports

    * Providing detailed technical advice and project updates to clients

    * Working to agreed project scopes
