How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Part-Time Accounts

    Suitable for candidates who have previously been a Bookkeeper, Finance Officer, Accounts Coordinator, Accounts Executive, Accounts Assistant Finance Administrator, SME Finance Controller or been a Company Accountant or similar

    Wellingborough (22.5 hours per week) -08.30 - 17.00 1 hour lunch

    Working days: Wednesday, Thursday & Friday

    A long‑established small business in Wellingborough is looking for an experienced Bookkeeper with Sage knowledge to take full responsibility for the day‑to‑day accounts in a standalone role. This is a stable, friendly SME environment where you'll work independently and play a key part in the financial running of the company submitting yearly accounts to an Accountant.

    The role has become available due to an employee relocating.

    Key Responsibilities of the Bookkeeping/ Finance / Accounts Admin are to

    Complete bank reconciliation to ensure accurate financial records
    Managing accounts payable and receivable
    Preparing payroll journals for accountant-provided data, posting to Sage, and setting up salary payments
    Producing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (e.g., profit & loss)
    Preparing and processing VAT returns and supporting accountants with tax preparation
    Maintaining organised financial documentation, receipts, and invoices
    Working confidently with Sage Line 50, word and Excel Daily Office Duties

    Monitoring and responding to emails
    Answering incoming calls and handling general enquiries
    Posting invoices onto Sage once issued
    Providing general administrative support, including typing quotes and RAMS when required
    Supplying financial information for insurance renewals

    We're looking for someone who has had an all round accounts role as either a Bookkeeper, Finance Officer, Accounts Coordinator, Accounts Executive, Finance Administrator, SME Finance Controller or Company Accountant or similar and is onfident using Sage Line 50 and happy to work in a standalone role at the company premises.
