How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    A highly advanced precision CNC manufacturing company based in Hertfordshire is seeking a hardworking, accurate, and experienced CNC Turner to join their well-established team. The company supports a wide range of sectors including Aerospace, Defence, Motorsport, and Robotics, operating at an F1-level standard within a clean, modern, and highly efficient engineering environment equipped with state-of-the-art CNC machine tools.
    WF Tech is representing this industry-leading manufacturer, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to produce a wide variety of complex, high-precision components using the latest CNC technology, with the right support and equipment to excel in the role.

    The Role & Responsibilities
    The main purpose of the role is to ensure CNC turning machines run efficiently with minimal downtime while producing high-precision components to exact drawing specifications.
    Key responsibilities include:
    ⦁ Setting machines and defining datums
    ⦁ Proving out new jobs
    ⦁ Editing and adjusting machine offsets
    ⦁ Carrying out first-off inspection checks
    ⦁ Maintaining strict machining tolerances
    ⦁ Interpreting detailed engineering drawings
    ⦁ Working closely with inspectors to ensure all tolerances are met
    ⦁ Managing material identification and control
    ⦁ Planning workloads effectively with Team Leaders

    Key Skills & Experience
    Ideal candidates should have experience in most of the following areas:
    ⦁ Strong understanding of CNC lathe setting and operating
    ⦁ Ability to interpret and work confidently from engineering drawings
    ⦁ Experience conducting first-off inspections
    ⦁ Excellent attention to detail
    ⦁ Good timekeeping and reliability
    ⦁ Strong understanding of machining tolerances and precision requirements
