How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Robot Automation Engineer
    Farnham, Surrey, UK
    Day Shift | Permanent | Early Finish Fridays
    £40,000 – £45,000 per annum + monthly bonus

    We are seeking an experienced Robot Automation Engineer to join their busy manufacturing team.

    The Role
    Based in Farnham, this position supports two manufacturing sites located approximately six miles apart. You will work closely with Production Engineers, the Maintenance Team, and Design Engineers to deliver both strategic automation projects and day-to-day operational support.
    This role offers a technically varied, hands-on environment where you will take ownership of automation projects from concept through to full integration.

    Key Responsibilities
    ⦁ Identify and develop automation opportunities across manufacturing operations
    ⦁ Design robotic cell layouts for loading and unloading CNC machining centres
    ⦁ Manage automation projects from concept through to full integration
    ⦁ Collaborate with the Design Team to develop and optimise end-of-arm tooling, fixtures, and infeed/outfeed systems
    ⦁ Program and integrate robotic systems (Fanuc and ABB) with CNC machines
    ⦁ Support commissioning and system integration alongside the Maintenance Team
    ⦁ Drive process improvements to enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality
    ⦁ Work cross-functionally to deliver best value to the business and customers
    ⦁ Troubleshoot production breakdowns
    ⦁ Support automation training for apprentices, junior engineers, and operators

    About You
    You will be a proactive and solutions-focused engineer who enjoys working in a collaborative manufacturing environment.
    Essential:
    ⦁ Level 3 Engineering qualification and/or completed apprenticeship
    ⦁ Proven robot programming experience (Fanuc and ABB advantageous)
    ⦁ Basic CNC programming experience
    ⦁ Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and geometric tolerances
    ⦁ Experience managing automation projects at cell level
    ⦁ HMI programming and management experience
    ⦁ Good understanding of machining processes and work holding methods
    ⦁ Full UK driving licence
    ⦁ Strong communication skills with a positive, enthusiastic attitude
    Desirable:
    ⦁ Experience with 3D CAD systems (Fusion 360 and Siemens Solid Edge advantageous)
    ⦁ Experience with robot simulation tools (Roboguide and Robot Studio advantageous)
    ⦁ Experience with Renishaw spindle probing
