Polytec is seeking an Electronics Prototype Technician to join our client based near Saffron Walden. This is a hands-on role focused on RF and general PCB prototyping, surface-mount assembly, wiring and electronics fault-finding within a busy RandD environment.
UK Security Clearance will be required for this role therefore applicants requiring visas will unfortunately not be eligible.
Responsibilities
- Electronics assembly to IPC-A-610 Class 3 standards
- Hand soldering of fine-pitch SMD components (including 0603 and 0402)
- PCB modification, rework and prototype build from schematics and drawings
- Detailed wiring and general electronics assembly
- Accurate recording and maintenance of build and test documentation
- Supporting day-to-day operation of an RandD laboratory
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience in an electronics lab or assembly environment
- Proven ability to work independently on complex prototype builds
- Experience collaborating closely with engineers as part of project teams
- Good IT skills for documentation and record-keeping
- Mechanical assembly experience is advantageous
- Flexible, proactive approach with a willingness to learn new skills
