How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Tradewind Recruitment is seeking dedicated Primary Teachers to join our supply team, supporting pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 in schools across Preston and Blackburn. Whether you prefer the foundational years of Year 1 or the challenge of upper Year 6, this is a fantastic opportunity to work in supportive, high-achieving environments without the pressures of a permanent contract.

    The Role: At a Glance

    Schedule: Term-Time Only, Monday-Friday (Ad-hoc or Regular)
    Working Hours: 08:30 - 15:30
    Pay Rate: £120 - £140+ per day (Experience dependent)
    Planning: Zero planning - all lessons are pre-set and ready for delivery

    Responsibilities:

    Deliver high-quality lessons across a range of subjects
    Maintain positive classroom behaviour
    Ensure a smooth handover for the permanent class teacherThis is an excellent opportunity to focus purely on teaching and engagement, without the added workload of planning and marking.

    What We Are Looking For

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
    Experience teaching across KS1, KS2, or both
    Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum
    Excellent classroom management skills
    A flexible, professional approach and ability to hit the ground running
