Senior Mechanical HVAC Design Engineer - Birmingham

Salary: £55,000-£70,000 + per annum DOE

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a great team in Birmingham. You will be working for a well-established mechanical building services consultancy and contractor, delivering high-quality design solutions across commercial, fit-out, and building services projects.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from office and retail fit-outs to larger commercial developments.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage mechanical design projects from concept to detailed working drawings.
Produce accurate calculations for LTHW, CHW, ventilation, air conditioning, ductwork, and pipework.
Use Autodesk Revit (essential) to create design models and coordinate with other disciplines.
Utilise design software such as Hevacomp and TAS.
Ensure designs comply with all relevant codes, standards, and project requirements.
Collaborate with project teams to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality outcomes.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to overall team development.Essential Requirements

Proven experience in mechanical building services design, ideally in commercial or fit-out projects.
Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects under deadlines.
Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Experience producing calculations across LTHW, CHW, ventilation, AC, ductwork, and pipework.Desirable Skills

Familiarity with AutoCAD alongside Revit.
Experience in commercial fit-out or building services projects.
