How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Primary Teaching Assistant

    Location: Newham
    Pay: £95 - £115 per day
    Contract Type: Full-time
    Start Date: ASAP
    Commutable from: Barking and Dagenham, Greenwich, Hackney, Redbridge, Tower Hamlets, and Waltham Forest.

    Long Term Futures is supporting a school with a full-time Primary Teaching Assistant role. This is an immediate opportunity to support a local primary school in Newham. Starting ASAP, you will be working across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, providing vital classroom support and helping to bridge learning gaps for students as they progress toward the Summer break.

    The school is a welcoming and inclusive primary setting based in the diverse borough of Newham. They are known for their supportive staff team and their commitment to ensuring every child reaches their full potential through a creative and engaging curriculum.

    Responsibilities

    Assisting the class teacher in the delivery of daily lessons and activities.
    Working with small groups of students to specialise in core subjects like Literacy and Numeracy.
    Supporting students with additional learning needs or those requiring extra emotional support.
    Preparing classroom resources and maintaining an organised learning environment.
    Supervising students during break times and ensuring their safety at all times.

    Essential Candidate Requirements

    Previous experience supporting children in a primary school or similar educational setting.
    A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach to supporting student learning.
    Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with children and staff.
    A basic understanding of the Primary National Curriculum.
    An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
