£80,000 + bonus + benefits
One production site. Some of the world's biggest brands rolling off the line. Tens of millions in confirmed investment incoming. A progressive management team, an inspirational leader, serious group support behind them. And a CI function that needs its next leader.
The business
The business operates in a category worth billions, with brands sitting in virtually every UK household. Their UK manufacturing footprint alone rivals a FTSE 100 company in scale. The site itself is one of the largest of its kind in Western Europe — and it's about to receive the kind of capital investment that sets a facility up for the next half century. This is not a business standing still.
The role
You'll own the OpEx programme for the site. In a world where businesses to and fro on initiatives, you'll make a lasting impact and at a scale that will make people double take. Your role will mean something.
Within the wider group, the OpEx programme is taken extremely seriously. Sites are scored against set group standards, and the impression this site makes on the wider group will be something you shape directly.
You'll also be sitting on the SLT — unlike many CI roles — so you'll be involved in site strategy, town halls, VIP visits.
In short, you'll be:
* Leading and embedding the Carlsberg Excellence programme across the site
* Driving CI through Gemba, Kaizen, and structured problem-solving
* Sitting on the SLT and shaping site strategy
* Building capability — coaching, workshops, performance reviews
* Reporting directly into the dual site director
Who we're looking for
You'll either be in a CI/OpEx role already, or in an operations role in a process-intensive food or drinks manufacturing business. You'll have qualifications in lean manufacturing — external or internal. You'll have people leadership experience and at least five to seven years in production or CI management.
And you'll bring energy. You'll probably have trained somewhere that demanded it.
The non-negotiables:
* Degree or equivalent in supply chain or a related field
* 5+ years in a production environment, 3+ in management
* Proven delivery of Lean, TPM, or Six Sigma programmes
* Strong people leadership and coaching experience
* Food, drink, or process manufacturing background
If you're entirely theoretical, this isn't for you. If you don't like people, this isn't for you. If you don't want to be doing big things, this isn't for you.
If you're ambitious and want to make an impact at scale — it might be worth a conversation.
What you'll get
The business invests in its people at the same level it invests in its sites. You'll have access to European and worldwide group support for your own development — the kind of exposure that accelerates careers. The person who did this job before you just got promoted into a group role. The package reflects the seriousness of the position: £80,000 base, bonus, enhanced pension, private family medical and more.
If this sounds like your next move, we'd like to hear from you
