How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Manufacturing Engineer – H&S Projects

    (No sponsorship available)

    Northampton (NN4)
    Up to £55,000 (negotiable)

Are you a degree-qualified Manufacturing Engineer who has led health & safety improvement projects within a manufacturing environment?

We are working with a well-established engineering manufacturer in Northampton that is continuing to strengthen its safety culture across site. They are looking to appoint a Manufacturing Engineer who can take ownership of H&S-focused engineering projects, improving safety through practical, process-driven solutions.

This is not a compliance-only role. It is about applying engineering expertise to design safer processes, reduce risk and drive real change on the shop floor.

    The role will involve:

    * Leading and delivering health & safety improvement projects across manufacturing operations

    * Designing and implementing safer processes, layouts and equipment modifications

    * Reviewing and improving risk assessments, COSHH assessments, RAMS and safe systems of work

    * Supporting incident and near-miss investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions

    * Working closely with EHS, production and engineering teams to embed best practice

    * Driving continuous improvement initiatives with a strong focus on risk reduction and compliance

    What we are looking for:

    * Degree-qualified in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing or similar)

    * Proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer within a manufacturing or engineering environment

    * Demonstrable experience leading or supporting health & safety improvement projects

    * Strong understanding of COSHH, risk assessments, safe systems of work and incident investigation

    * Ability to influence across production, engineering and leadership teams

    * A practical, hands-on approach to solving safety and process challenges
