How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Overview

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Machine Shop Manager to join a growing company in Brighouse. The successful candidate will oversee the daily operations of the CNC machining team, implement process improvements, and help drive the company’s continued expansion.     Key Responsibilities

    * Manage a team of 2-3 people in the machine shop, with potential for team expansion.

    * Oversee CNC machining operations, ensuring consistent product quality, cost-effective manufacturing, and high safety standards.

    * Implement strategies to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and streamline production processes.

    * Ensure production targets for machining are met on a daily basis.

    * Manage material flow and supervise quality control measures.

    * Work closely with internal departments, including supply chain, to ensure timely product delivery and meet customer expectations.

    * Support growth by helping to integrate new technologies, systems, and processes into the machining area.

    * Maintain high standards of safety and housekeeping in the workshop.

    * Drive the culture of continuous improvement and bring fresh ideas to the team.

    Essential Requirements

    * Proven experience in CNC machining, ideally from a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

    * Strong leadership skills with experience managing both internal teams and external partners.

    * Experience in implementing process improvements within a machining environment.

    * Ability to manage both machine shop operations effectively and adapt to changing production needs.

    * Must bring innovative ideas to improve processes and drive efficiency.

    * Ability to work collaboratively with different departments.

    * Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

    Team Dynamic

    * Team Size: 2-3 people, with potential for growth.

    * External Machine Shops: Oversee relationships with external machine shops involved in production.

    Benefits

    * Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 depending on experience.

    * Working Hours: 39 hours, with an early finish on Fridays.

    * Holiday: 24 days + Bank Holidays.
