How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Profile for Quantity Surveyor CF46276

    Bennett and Game Recruitment are proud to be working with a well-established contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute construction professional to take ownership of multiple projects from contract award through to final account, while also supporting project delivery and coordination.

    This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys both commercial management and project support, with the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and play a key part in successful project delivery.

    The Role

    The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial and project co-ordination aspects of several live projects, ensuring works are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with contractual requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    Review contract documentation including terms and conditions, employer's requirements, drawings, warranties, and bonds
    Provide commercial and contractual advice throughout the lifecycle of each project
    Attend pre-contract and post-contract meetings
    Monitor, price, and agree project variations and change orders
    Prepare and submit monthly applications for payment and manage interim valuations
    Oversee payment tracking and ensure timely agreement of final accounts
    Produce cost value reconciliations (CVRs), forecasts, and cash flow reports
    Support dispute resolution where required
    Prepare tender enquiries and subcontract packages
    Negotiate subcontract terms and place orders
    Manage subcontractor applications, payments, and final accounts
    Help improve internal commercial processes and procedures
    Support junior commercial staff and encourage best practice across the teamRequirements

    Previous experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within construction
    Strong understanding of contract administration, valuations, CVRs, and subcontract management
    Experience working across multiple projects simultaneously
    Good knowledge of construction processes and project delivery
    Excellent communication and organisational skills
    Ability to build strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
