Veritas Education is working in partnership with a number of excellent secondary schools across Wakefield, and we are seeking confident, reliable, and engaging Cover Supervisors to support teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4.
This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in a school environment, including aspiring teachers, recent graduates, or those with previous experience working with young people. As a Cover Supervisor, you will deliver pre-prepared lessons in the absence of the class teacher, ensuring a positive learning environment and maintaining the high standards expected within our partner schools.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers.
Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and ensure students remain on task.
Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
Support pupils in their learning and encourage positive engagement.
Report back to relevant teaching staff regarding student progress and behaviour.
About You
We are looking for individuals who are:
Confident and positive in front of groups of young people.
Organised, adaptable, and able to remain calm under pressure.
Professional in approach and committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
Comfortable following behaviour and safeguarding procedures set by the school.
Previous experience in education or youth settings is beneficial but not essential.
