The Opportunity
Contek Recruitment are currently working with a well-established precision engineering client who are looking to add an experienced CNC Setter to their team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a small, close-knit team of around 10 employees, working within a modern machining environment on high-specification components across a range of industries.
The Role
The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for CNC milling, although experience in turning will also be considered.
You will be working on a range of advanced CNC machinery including:
* Mikron
* Hermle
* Index
This role involves working across 3, 4 and 5-axis machines, ensuring efficient setup and smooth production of precision-engineered components.
Key Responsibilities
* Setting CNC milling (and/or turning) machines
* Downloading and preparing CNC programs
* Setting tool offsets and tooling
* Preparing machines for production runs
* Working to tight tolerances and detailed engineering drawings
* Ensuring consistent quality and accuracy
* Working collaboratively within a small team environment
Requirements
* Previous experience as a CNC Setter (milling preferred)
* Experience working with 3–5 axis CNC machines
* Knowledge of Siemens and/or Heidenhain controls
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Strong understanding of tooling, offsets, and machining processes
* High attention to detail
