How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

You’ll work closely with Application Engineers, Test teams and other internal departments, translating design concepts into high‑quality, precision‑machined parts. Program, set and operate CNC machines (programming from scratch)
Plan machining methods, tooling selection and cutting strategies
Work closely with Application Engineers to confirm component and machining requirements
Inspect finished components using precision measuring equipment to ensure accuracy
Support Test, Prototype Build, Production, Maintenance and Quality teams as required
Manufacture fixtures and tooling; modify or section components for analysis and testing
Order materials, tooling and consumables for machining activities
Maintain excellent workshop housekeeping and follow engineering best practice
Work independently, managing workload to meet project deadlines
    Equipment You’ll Be Working With

Colchester VMC (3‑Axis) with Fanuc control and 4th‑axis add‑on
Colchester semi‑automatic lathe (CNC or manual operation)

    Off‑hand grinder
Gcoder 2D CAD / CAM software
    What We’re Looking For

Time‑served engineering apprenticeship (or equivalent hands‑on experience)
Strong experience in CNC milling and CNC turning
    Confident CNC programming experience (essential)
Ability to read and work accurately from engineering drawings
    Competent using precision measuring equipment
Comfortable working in a prototype / low‑volume environment
Organised, proactive and able to work independently
    Benefits

    Competitive salary
    Day‑shift working pattern
Varied and interesting prototype machining work
    Small, modern and well‑equipped workshop
    High level of autonomy
Close collaboration with R&D, Test, Production and Quality teams
