How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Electrical Project Engineer – Major Commercial Scheme - Paddington

    The Project

We are working in partnership with a leading MEP contractor to appoint an Electrical Project Engineer for a flagship commercial development in Paddington.

The scheme comprises an 18-storey new build commercial office, delivering high-quality shell & core alongside CAT A fit out, with a total MEP value of approximately £35M.

This is a technically complex, high-profile project involving:

    Large-scale electrical infrastructure and distribution

    High-spec commercial office environments

Multi-floor coordination across shell & core and fit out phases

Early contractor involvement and pre-construction input

    The Company

Our client is a well-established MEP contractor with a strong track record delivering major commercial schemes across London.

They operate on complex projects typically ranging from £10M–£50M MEP value, offering a structured environment, strong leadership and clear progression pathways.

    The Role

This is a hybrid pre-construction and delivery role, offering exposure from early-stage planning through to project completion.

As Electrical Project Engineer, you will support both the pre-construction phase and the on-site delivery, working closely with the Project Manager and wider commercial and technical teams,

    Pre-Construction Responsibilities

Supporting development of programmes and sequencing of works

Assisting with value engineering and design optimisation

Procurement of plant, materials and subcontract packages

Reviewing technical submissions, drawings and specifications

Liaising with design teams and consultants to resolve technical queries

    Delivery Responsibilities

Coordinating electrical works across multiple floors

    Managing subcontractors and specialist suppliers

Tracking progress against programme and reporting updates

Ensuring compliance with H&S and QA requirements

    Supporting commissioning, snagging and handover

This role offers genuine end-to-end project exposure, rather than being limited to site delivery only.

    Candidate Profile

We are looking for a well-rounded Electrical Project Engineer with:

Experience across pre-construction and/or delivery phases

Background in commercial new build or large-scale fit out projects

Experience working on MEP packages (£10M+)

Strong understanding of electrical building services systems

Ability to engage with design, procurement and site teams

A proactive, commercially aware and solutions-driven approach

    Why Join

Involvement from pre-construction through to completion

Work on a major £35M MEP commercial scheme

Exposure to both technical and commercial aspects of delivery

Strong platform for progression into Senior Engineer / Project Manager roles

Long-term pipeline of high-value London projects

    Summary

This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Project Engineer to take on a broader role within a major commercial scheme, gaining valuable experience across both pre-construction and delivery phases
