The Project
We are working in partnership with a leading MEP contractor to appoint an Electrical Project Engineer for a flagship commercial development in Paddington.
The scheme comprises an 18-storey new build commercial office, delivering high-quality shell & core alongside CAT A fit out, with a total MEP value of approximately £35M.
This is a technically complex, high-profile project involving:
Large-scale electrical infrastructure and distribution
High-spec commercial office environments
Multi-floor coordination across shell & core and fit out phases
Early contractor involvement and pre-construction input
The Company
Our client is a well-established MEP contractor with a strong track record delivering major commercial schemes across London.
They operate on complex projects typically ranging from £10M–£50M MEP value, offering a structured environment, strong leadership and clear progression pathways.
The Role
This is a hybrid pre-construction and delivery role, offering exposure from early-stage planning through to project completion.
As Electrical Project Engineer, you will support both the pre-construction phase and the on-site delivery, working closely with the Project Manager and wider commercial and technical teams,
Pre-Construction Responsibilities
Supporting development of programmes and sequencing of works
Assisting with value engineering and design optimisation
Procurement of plant, materials and subcontract packages
Reviewing technical submissions, drawings and specifications
Liaising with design teams and consultants to resolve technical queries
Delivery Responsibilities
Coordinating electrical works across multiple floors
Managing subcontractors and specialist suppliers
Tracking progress against programme and reporting updates
Ensuring compliance with H&S and QA requirements
Supporting commissioning, snagging and handover
This role offers genuine end-to-end project exposure, rather than being limited to site delivery only.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a well-rounded Electrical Project Engineer with:
Experience across pre-construction and/or delivery phases
Background in commercial new build or large-scale fit out projects
Experience working on MEP packages (£10M+)
Strong understanding of electrical building services systems
Ability to engage with design, procurement and site teams
A proactive, commercially aware and solutions-driven approach
