How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Quantity Surveyor - Residential Developer
    Ashford
    Up to £60,000 + Package
     
    Hill McGlynn is proud to be partnering with a well-established residential developer in their search for a talented Quantity Surveyor to join their team, based out of their Ashford office.
     
    This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially astute QS to join a growing developer delivering high-quality residential schemes. You'll play a key role in managing project costs and ensuring developments are delivered efficiently and within budget.
    The Role
    As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the commercial management of residential developments from pre-construction through to final account. You will work closely with internal teams and subcontractors to maintain financial control across multiple projects.
     
    Key Responsibilities

    Managing project budgets, forecasts, and cost reporting
    Procurement and management of subcontractor packages
    Preparing valuations, variations, and final accounts
    Supporting tendering and cost planning processes
    Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and to programme
    Liaising with site teams, suppliers, and senior management Requirements
    Minimum 3 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a residential environment
    Relevant degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or similar
    Strong understanding of cost control and contract administration
    Excellent communication and negotiation skills
    Ability to manage multiple projects effectively
    Experience working on flats/apartments is highly desirable What's on Offer
